What is Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage?
Manual Lymphatic Drainage or MLD is a rhythmical invigorating massage with a pumping action designed to increase the natural lymph flow throughout the body. The lymphatic system is responsible for the removal of metabolic waste, excess fluid retention , toxins, bacteria and foreign substances from the tissues via the lymphatic vessels.
MLD is deeply relaxing, energising and has a powerful cleansing action on the body.
The massage techniques work by creating a 'milking action' on the Lymphatic capillaries to unclog and flush out toxins, metabolic waste from cells and excess fluids from the body. At the same time, this milking and pumping action on these Lymphatic vessels causes an increase in powerful fighter white blood cells/ antibodies to flood the body and launch an attack on invading foreign substances, pathogens, bacteria and viruses,
MLD is supportive of weight loss and detox programmes by helping to remove fluid retention and improves the appearance of cellulite by increasing the body's skin tone and elasticity. "Say goodbye to the 'orange peel' effect on Legs, Bum and Tums."
